ORLANDO, Fla. (May 18, 2018) – Watchpoint: Orlando, Polarity’s first PC LAN event, kicked off on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m to 11 p.m., at Nerddom Games near downtown Orlando. This event was organized by Polarity’s Chief Operating Director, Matt ‘Moses’ Kiep and Chief Project Manager, Alicia ‘Eshabug’ White. Watchpoint: Orlando is the hopeful start to more PC LAN tournaments from Polarity.
The event held seven teams in attendance, all with varying skill rankings. These seven teams fought for first place and the $240 pot bonus. Even with a rocky start, everything came together smoothly at the end.
“This was our first PC gaming event and our first event at the venue,” Kiep said. “We had some bumps, but it looks like everyone was having fun. And we hope to do more PC events in the future.”
Of the seven teams, the undisputed victor was Win4Grammie, who won each of their matches without dropping a map. The team had the highest skill ranking average with all players ranked as grandmasters. Among them was the #1 Doomfist main in North America, and popular Overwatch streamer, ‘Brandito’
“It was a pretty good event, well run,” Brandito said. “Everybody was having a good time. The more fun you’re having with the game, the better player you’ll be.”
Watchpoint: Orlando is potentially the starting point for future events in games such as League of Legends, DOTA 2 and Smite.
